Exheat Industrial Wins Contract to Provide Immersion Heaters for Ichthys Project

Exheat Industrial, a manufacturer of fast track solutions to the industry's wide and varied requirements for electrical heating systems, has been awarded the contract to provide flameproof core-type immersion heaters for lube oil compressor packages at the Ichthys oil field in Australia.

With its highly versatile ability to heat processes of different natures and its robust Ex'd' terminal enclosure giving full protection to the electrical connections, the FP heaters were selected as the heating solution for the Ichthys project to help keep lubricant oils pure and keep machinery running in prime condition. The Exheat Industrial heaters are globally accredited, with ATEX, IECEx, CCOE, KGS, CSA and GOST-R certifications.

The project, located in the Ichthys Field, in the Browse Basin offshore of Western Australia, produces LNG that will be exported to onshore processing facilities in Darwin via an 880km, 42-inch subsea pipeline. Ichthys will produce an initial 8.4 million tonnes per annum of LNG and will have onshore facilities that include a slug catcher, a treatment plant for liquids, and carbon dioxide removal.
